Lizard Joes BBQ is a small town kinda place serving slow smoked BBQ with a flavor as big as Texas!

 On the beach in the small fishing village of Chelem Yucatan Mexico, Lizard Joe's BBQ is internationally known as one of the best barbecue restaurants on either side of the border and the Yucatan home of Texas Music Legend Joe King Carrasco. Lizard Joe's has all your  barbecue favorites and traditional side dishes, a full bar and some of the coldest regional beers around. Our beef and pork are obtained locally,  slow smoked over local hardwoods for up to 20 hours using non-commercial smokers to give you authentic homemade backyard Tejano BBQ. And, Lizard Joe's is Vegetarian friendly. We exclude meat products from all our side dishes and offer a meatless Chile Relleno that is a meal all by itself.  

Lizard Joes Friday Night Lights offers Great BBQ at 6PM and live music at 8PM on the beach with singers, songwriters from both sides of the border, every Friday night! Come see us.

Lizard Joe's is Family Friendly! We have beach access, outdoor showers, clean restrooms, games, high-speed internet and everything you need for a family fun in the sun day at the beach. We serve birthday cake every Friday.

Coming from Merida or Progreso, drive straight across Chelem Square, turn right on the second street past the green Chelem Municipal building towards the beach and then left on the beach road. Lizard Joe's will be on the beach side of the road Calle 17 between Calle 24 and 26. You can't miss the sign on the large bright yellow wall.
